Interim Global Portfolio Lead, GBS Communication, Oslo
Manage the digital communication portfolio, translate strategy into action, and drive execution across teams and vendors.
We are looking for an experienced consultant for a six-month assignment with a large international company based in Oslo.
The role sits at the intersection of communication, digital development and business. You will help turn communication and channel strategy into clear concepts, priorities, governance, processes and actionable work packages for internal teams and external vendors.
This is not a traditional communications role, nor is it a purely technical or project management role. We are looking for someone who understands digital communication environments and who is strong at creating structure, alignment and progress in a complex global organisation.
The assignment
You will act as a key link between communication teams, digital development teams, the business and external vendors.
A central part of the assignment will be to strengthen governance and ways of working across the digital communication portfolio, helping the organisation move from strategic direction to clear priorities and execution.
You will, among other things:
support owners of communication and channel strategies in turning strategic priorities into actionable initiatives
translate business and communication needs into clear concepts, roadmaps and work packages
help structure, prioritise and govern the digital communication portfolio across teams, channels and vendors
establish and improve processes, governance and ways of working
coordinate initiatives across communication, technology and business functions
drive progress and ensure alignment across key stakeholders
prepare and present recommendations and decision material
coordinate and follow up external digital vendors and partners
ensure that solutions and initiatives are viewed in a broader cross-functional context
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced consultant who combines strong communication and digital understanding with the ability to drive execution.
You are likely to have experience within:
digital communication, transformation, programme, project or portfolio management
communication governance and process development
digital communication platforms such as web, intranet, digital workplace or similar environments
translating strategy and complex business needs into concrete concepts and deliverables
stakeholder management in large and complex organisations
working across communication, technology and business teams
coordinating internal teams and external vendors
preparing and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders and steering groups
Experience from large global companies and complex international matrix organisations is a strong advantage.
You do not need to be a technical specialist or developer, but you must understand how digital solutions are developed and managed, and be able to translate business and communication needs into something technical teams can act on.
Experience with digital workplace, intranet, web platforms, governance, vendor management, analytics or digital transformation is also an advantage.
Personal qualities
The personal fit will be important in this assignment.
We are looking for someone who is:
Professionally confident and comfortable providing clear recommendations
Diplomatic, with the ability to navigate different priorities and perspectives
Strong in stakeholder management and able to build trust across functions and seniority levels
Structured, with the ability to manage several initiatives and dependencies at the same time
Able to see the bigger picture without getting lost in unnecessary detail
Persuasive, with the confidence to challenge, argue a point of view and create buy-in
Clear and credible in meetings and presentations
Hands-on and execution-oriented, ensuring that discussions and decisions lead to action
Independent, with the ability to quickly understand a complex organisation and create momentum
You should be comfortable working in a matrix organisation where progress depends on influencing and aligning stakeholders rather than formal authority.
Fluent English is required. Norwegian is not required.
